Abstract


This review aims to summarize and provide a preliminary assessment of Juan Herrero Senés’s monograph entitled Mensajeros de un tiempo nuevo: Modernidad y nihilismo en la literatura de vanguardia (1918-1936) first published by Anthropos Editorial in 2014. This book focuses on the literary innovation of Spain’s interwar years, and examines the aesthetic, sociopolitical, and ideological trends that influenced young avant-garde writers and their critics during this time.
